New Liberty “on-track” to deliver gold next month

Aureus Mining has, as of 14 April 2015, started commissioning the major circuits for its New Liberty mine in Liberia, as it gears for the country’s first commercial production of gold next month.

"I am delighted to report the continued progress at New Liberty including the commissioning of the crushing circuits and the commencement of plant commissioning. Such events represent tangible milestones towards production," said Aureus Chief Executive and President David Reading.

Both hot and cold plant commissioning phases have both started, with commissioning now completed on the primary and secondary crushing circuits. In addition, all six power generators have also been synchronised. The work on the screening circuit, conveyor systems, ball mill, electro-winning circuit and power generation infrastructure has all been completed.

“It is an exciting time and tremendous achievement for the company who are close to realising the potential of Liberia's first commercial gold mine," comments Reading.
